St. David’s 百貨石灰石瓷磚整修

Having completed many prestigious shopping centre installations, ARDEX were delighted to work in partnership with Stone Cladding International Ltd of Newton Abbot, to assist with the completion of the vast £675m extension to the existing St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff.

St David’s, which opened in October 2009, has brought new stores, cafes, restaurants and luxury residential apartments to the heart of Cardiff, as well as enhanced public areas and facilities, a new central library and a modernisation of the existing St David’s Shopping Centre. During its construction, St David’s was one of the most important city developments in the UK, and the largest private financial investment in Wales.

ARDEX is renowned within the tile industry as pioneering manufacturers of innovative tile fixing products, and our products meet the demands of today’s tiling trends, including the development of a range of tile adhesives and grouts specifically designed for use with moisture sensitive natural stone. For this installation, ARDEX X 7001 Rapid Drying Pourable Floor Tile Adhesive in white was used to fix 8,000m² of limestone tiling throughout the malls. The pourable consistency of the product made solid bed fixing easy, and the unique ARDEX RAPDRY FORMULA TECHNOLOGY virtually eliminated the risk of water staining, curling and warping, that can be common in many moisture sensitive natural stones. In addition, the tiles could be walked on and grouted after just 2 hours.
